Indian Economy - What we can do 0 comments

Following is a mail that I got today.

Please spare a couple of minutes TO MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE TO THE INDIAN ECONOMY BY FOLLOWING FEW SIMPLE STEPS.

Please spare a couple of minutes here........ for the sake of India, our country.

Small example
Before 5 months 1 CAN $ = IND Rs 32
After 5 months. Now it is 1 CAN $ = IND Rs 37

Do you think Canadian Economy is booming? No, but Indian Economy is Going Down.

Our Economy is in u'r hands

INDIAN economy is in a crisis. Our country like many other ASIAN countries is undergoing a severe economic crunch. Many INDIAN industries are closing down. The INDIAN economy is in a crisis and if we do not take proper steps to control those, we will be in a critical situation.

More than 30000 crore rupees of foreign exchange are being siphoned out of our country on products such as cosmetics, snacks, tea, beverages... etc which are grown, produced and consumed here .

A cold drink that costs only 70 / 80 paisa to produce is sold for NINE rupees, and a major chunk of profits from these are sent abroad. This is a serious drain on INDIAN economy.

'COCA COLA 'and' SPRITE ' belong to the same multinational company, 'COCA COLA'?

Coke advertisements says ' JO CHAHO HOJAYE, COCACOLA ENJOY' (Whatever the hell, let it happen, you drink coke) What can you do?

You can consider some of the better alternatives to aerated drinks. You can drink LEMON JUICE, FRESH FRUIT JUICES, CHILLED LASSI, BUTTER MILK, COCONUT WATER, JALJEERA, ENERJEE, MASALA MILK........ ..

Everyone deserves a healthy drink, including you!
Over and above all this, economic sanctions have been imposed on us. We have nothing against Multinational companies, but to protect our own interests we request everybody to use INDIAN products only for next two years. With the rise in petrol prices, if we do not do this, the rupee will devalue further and we will end up paying much more for the same products in the near future.

What you can do about it?
1 . Buy only products manufactured by WHOLLY INDIAN COMPANIES.
2 . ENROLL as many people as possible for this cause.

Each individual should become a leader for this awareness. This is the only way to save our country from severe economic crisis. You don't need to give-up your lifestyle. You just need to choose an alternate product.

All categories of products are available from WHOLLY INDIAN COMPANIES.

Wish you a Happy and "Safe" Diwali 0 comments

Diwali or Deepavali, also known as Festival of Lights, is one of the widely celebrated festivals. Fireworks and crackers are popular on the eve of the festival. Few years back we used to hear sounds of crackers more than two or three weeks before the Festival day. As years went by, we could hear the sounds of crackers only a few days before the diwali and it is still decreasing. One possible reason is due to the drastic increase in the cost of the fireworks. So people buy the fireworks and wait till the diwali day so that they would have enough fireworks and thereby enjoyment on that day. Another possible reason is that, people have become much aware of the pollution that might be caused by fireworks. But it is just one day for our enjoyment.

Most common advice by people during this period is to be careful while handling fireworks and firing them. When it comes to you, you will be more careful. But make sure others who are around you are safe as well. When you fire a cracker at the middle of a street, make sure you alert the person who is walking on the road. If you ran inside your house, others might not know that there is lighted firework at the middle of the road and it might end up in big problem. It will be a happy diwali only if it is safe. So wish you a happy, prosperous and a safe Diwali.

Excuse me boss, you have a text message 2 comments

Some time back, I posted a tone that become much popular in our college days. Recently I got a ringtone that made me laugh out for quite a long time. You would have heard the tone used for messages where a male voice says "Excuse me boss, you have a text message" whenever you receive a message. The following one is a slight remix of this tone. Here voice of "comedy puyal" Vadivelu (actor who preforms comedy tracks in Tamil Films) is inserted inbetween those to make it sound comical. I wouldn't break the suprise by typing what he says. So just download and hear, and give your comments.

Electrons don't move or orbit around a nucleus 0 comments

Particles are made of molecules, which is in turn made of something called atoms, which has a nucleus and electrons around the nucleus. We are mostly either taught or we think that they are similar to planets moving around the sun. Actually it is wrong. The picture of Electrons moving around the nucleus is an old theory and it is no more followed. Many new theories have come up after that. Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle states that at any moment we cant precisely find the position of an electron. Though we can define space around the nucleus where the electrons can be most likely found. There are many such spaces or structures. They are called S, P, D, F orbitals. Lower Energy levels are found found nearer the nucleus. Depending on how close an energy level is to the nucleus, the structures are classified as 1s,2s,2p.... etc. Electron belonging to a particular energy level, will most likely be found in one such orbital. The circles we draw around the nucleus in the atomic structure are not orbits, but Energy levels. So next time, don't ever say that electrons orbit around the nucleus. If you want to know more information about this, open google and search for "atomic orbitals".

Try Giving a Break 1 comments

Recently I have been writing a code for developing an application. Many problems came in my way as usual, as I am not an expert in the Language. I was searching for solutions for each of my problem in the net. Mostly I will find a solution. Sometimes, I will have to really search a lot for finding a solution and sometimes I get the answer very soon. Once I got a problem and I am not able to find the solution easily. I have made all possible searches in Google (You will get your solution if you search in the right way. Because I always believe that, I am not the only one affected with the problem. There will be someone else already having that problem and have come up with a solution. So I always recommend google for many of the problems, as it is the best search engine I have seen). After a long span of searching, I am fed up and I was thinking of compromising myself with someother alternative. Before doing so, I stopped searching for a while, and then went out for sometime. Later I came back, searched for the problem again, and to my suprise I found the answer.

When you are constantly doing something, you will be in the same attitude. When you divert yourself and come back, there are chances that the way you look into a problem changes. This strategy applies in many such situations and even in your personal life. So try it later having a break if you have a problem that is lasting for a long time.

For people "still" working with IE 6 or less 0 comments

From the day I started using Internet, I have always been using Mozilla Firefox. The reason why I opted for the browser is its "tab" feature. I don't know whether Firefox is the first to implement it, but I saw that first in Firefox and so started using Firefox. From then, I am feeling cool to browse the net fast without the need for switching between windows. Since I haven't worked much on IE, I don't know much about the features of IE.

Recently, I started writing HTML and Javascript for small applications as you could see here. Though I have completed the application to my satisfaction atleast, but the problems I came across are lots, mainly because I don't know much about HTML and Javascripts. I used to search for particular functions or codes, and link them together with the little bit of knowledge I have. While doing some kind of searching, I saw that, how bad is IE (atleast v6 and below and I heard that IE7 is somewhat better). It is really a tough time for coders, because the same styles used in a HTML look correct in Firefox based browsers, whereas it is wrongly shown in IE and IE is not following standards while displaying some styles. Though the users won't be much aware of how bad is IE, it is good if you could update your IE version to 7 or move to a better browsers like Firefox 3.
